Rachel's challenge
We had a very inspiring assembly today. Students can sign the poster hanging up outside the cafeteria and accept this challenge.
Interactive Notebook Pg. 2 - Real Number System
We talked about growing up and learning new numbers.
As a baby you learn the Natural Numbers (Counting Numbers) by counting all your toys. 1, 2, 3...
As you grow older your Natural Numbers turn into Whole numbers because you learn about zero (none) - like if someone were to take away all your toys. Oh no!
In school your Whole numbers expand to include negative numbers, so they are now called Integers.
Then you are introduced to fractions, terminating and repeating decimals. You now now all the numbers in the Rational Numbers family.
There is another family called the Irrational Numbers family. These are numbers that can not be fractions and are non-terminating and non-repeating decimals.

Interactive Notebook Pg. 1 - Order of Operations
I'm so excited to start our Interactive Notebook today! We started with a review on Order of Operations. Students may use their phone during class to copy the notes and set up their pages. We will be using time during the lab classes to work on making our notebooks look awesome. I think using color makes the pages "POP"! Don't you think?
